Whole30 – Day 4

Today has been the worst day yet. I feel awful. I have a constant headache, I’m nauseated, I feel weak and tired and my thought processes are slow. I’ve even felt faint a couple of times today. I’m finding it hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’ve been reading up on dealing with carb flu. I’m trying to make sure that I drink enough water and eat enough fat. Earlier this afternoon I tried a home-made electrolyte drink – water, lemon juice and a pinch of sea salt – and the headache did back off.

In the good news portion of this post, I’ve gone down a notch in my belt so I must have reduced the bloating I had from eating so much rubbish over the summer. My skin is also clearer. I’ve had persistent acne at my cheekbones and temples for several years now and it’s almost entirely gone. Maybe I do see the light at the end of the tunnel after all.

Today’s food log:

2 pork, apple and leek sausages with some cherry tomatoes.

NomNom Paleo’s curried cream of broccoli soup with a small portion of mixed nuts and dried fruit.

1.5 pork loin steaks with NomNom Paleo’s broccoli bagna cauda (photo above).

2 cups black coffee
4 glasses water
1 homemade electrolyte drink
1 cup peppermint tea.
